Refresher Prerequisite Criteria

The criteria for refresher courses remains the same as previously, the learner must already hold the Unit Standards they are refreshing:  US23966; US23960; US23962

Attestation Benefits – during COVID19

• Reduces the need for learners to complete the practical session, thus complying with social distancing rules and requirements
• After lock down there will be no downtime for workers to come in for training.
• During lock down, the theory component can be conducted as a virtual training session, with a trainer (not pre-recorded program).
• Personal direct attention. During the virtual sessions, the learners will be able to ask questions, seek clarifications with a real person.
• Reduces the virtual class time as no practical component is required. Average refresher course may only take approx. 2 to 3 hours dependent on the course.
• For the companies, they can determine competency of learners, by going through this attestation document.

Workplace Verifier Process:

The process is simple, a workplace verifier confirms the competency of the learners performing the tasks being refreshed.

Provide suitable documentation to support decisions.

The document we believe is self-explanatory. The workplace verifier should be someone duly authorised by the company (organisation) to determine the learners' competence. This could be a workplace on site trainer, supervisor, team leader, manager. They accept that our trainers may contact them to confirm the details noted and seek any clarification is required.
