Working at Heights Refresher - 4Hour session
Work Safe advises employers to have their staff attend regular refresher training.
Trainees attending refresher courses must already hold any of the below Working at Heights Unit Standards from NZQA:
23229 - Use a safety harness for fall prevention
15757 - Use, install & disestablish fall arrest systems
17600 - Explain safe practices
25045 - Employ height safety equipment in the workplace
Key Learning Outcomes
- Height Safety trainees undertaking this training will gain knowledge to enable themselves to work safely at height
- The working at height training comprises both theory and practical activities. The height safety training course will cover requirements under the Health and Safety at Work Act (2015) and HSE Regulations 1995 and Best Practice Guidelines for Working at Height.
PIXOVR - Virtual Reality will replace the Practical training.
- Visual stimulation in a fully immersive and highly relevant simulated work site, including photo realistic imagery.
- Auditory stimulation with spoken voice communications, and realistic interior/exterior sound effects, (wind, car horns,"creaking" scaffolding, etc.)
- Kinesthetic motion and performance of physical tasks.
- Mental engagement through the completion of safety protocols with both repetitious and randomized situational details.
- Sensory stimulation to include the feeling of falling in the event of a catastrophic failure.
