Key Learning Objectives:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of classifying hazardous substances.

  • Demonstrate knowledge of the potential adverse effects of hazardous substances on the body and environment, types of exposure monitoring, and
    treatment options.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of safe storage, tracking requirements, handling, and disposal of hazardous substances.
  • Explain and understand the concepts of multiple causation and root-cause analysis. Learn about the purpose of a hazard register and its advantages in managing risks as well as understand legislative requirements for incidents and accidents.  Barriers to reporting near-miss incidents and how to overcome them.
