NZQA Unit Standard 3271 - Suppress fire with hand extinguishers and fixed hose reels (practical)

NZQA Unit Standard 4647 - Explain principles of fire science

In this course you are trained in the different types of fire classes and fire suppression techniques and how to apply safe and effective fire suppression strategies.

This course can be completed in conjunction with the Fire Warden training for a full day fire safety training course.

Key Learning Objectives: 

  • How to operate the different types of fire extinguishers in your workplace.
  • Which extinguisher to use for particular fires if you have more than one type.
  • The best techniques for fighting different types of fire and effective fire suppression techniques.

Training gives your team the confidence that they are handling the equipment safely and effectively.
