First Aid Level 2

To complete US6400,US6401 and US6402 as a 1-day training session, there is pre-course work that needs to be filled in and sent back to info@actsafety.co.nz before attending the training.  If pre-course work is not sent or handed in, you will only be able to attend US6401 and US6402 (level1) .

NZQA 6402 - Provide basic life support - Level 1, 2 Credits

Course overview:

• Provide basic life support (DRSABCD).
• Assess and manage a collapsed person's positioning and condition.
• Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for adults, children, and infants.
• Automated external defibrillators (AED) use.
• Manage a foreign body airway obstruction in adults, children, and infants.
• First aid for life-threatening bleeding.
• First aid management for a person in shock.

NZQA 6401 - Provide First Aid - Level 2, 1 Credit

Pre-requisite: US6402 - Provide Basic Life Support

Course overview:

• A trauma caused by - Burns, Fractures, dislocations, soft tissue injuries or poisoning.
• Medical conditions from - Heart Attack, Asthma, Stroke, Seizure or Diabetes

NZQA 6400 - Manage First Aid in an Emergency Situation - Level 3, 2 Credits

Prerequisite: US6401 - Provide First Aid

Course Overview:

• Manage first aid in an emergency for injuries that range from chemical burns, electrical burns, gunshot wounds, impalement, stabbing, crush injuries, amputations, head injuries, suspected spinal injuries, and internal injuries. 
• Assess one medical condition from this range: severe allergic reaction, cold emergency, heat emergency

First Aid Level 2 certificate valid for 2 Years upon successful completion.less
