First Aid Level 1

NZQA 6402 - Provide basic life support - Level 1, 2 Credits

Course overview:

  • Provide basic life support (DRSABCD).
  • Assess and manage a collapsed person's positioning and condition.
  • Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for adults, children, and infants.
  • Automated external defibrillators (AED) use.
  • Manage a foreign body airway obstruction in adults, children, and infants.
  • First aid for life-threatening bleeding.
  • First aid management for a person in shock.

NZQA 6401 - Provide First Aid - Level 2, 1 Credit

Pre-requisite: US6402 - Provide Basic Life Support

Course overview:

  • A trauma caused by - Burns, Fractures, dislocations, soft tissue injuries or poisoning.
  • Medical conditions from - Heart Attack, Asthma, Stroke, Seizure or Diabetes

First Aid Level 1 certificate valid for 2 Years upon successful completion.
