This course is designed to help you to demonstrate a solid understanding of Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs) and the legislative requirements for their use in the work environment.
- Unit Standard 23966 - Mobile Elevated Work Platform Theory
- Unit Standard 23960 - Scissor Lift
- Unit Standard 23962 - Boom Lift
Key learning outcomes
- Demonstrate knowledge of types of EWPs, their suitability for purpose, and safety features (range: scissor lift, truck mounted, self-propelled boom lift, trailer mounted, vertical lift).
- Demonstrate knowledge of legislative requirements in relation to Code of Practice and the use of EWPs.
- Assess the work-site, and prepare to use a scissor lift EWP
- Carry out operations in a workplace environment.
- Report faults and damage.
- Shut down the scissor lift EWP.
- Assess the work site, and prepare to use a self-propelled boom lift EWP.
- Carry out operations in a workplace environment, report faults, and shut down the self-propelled boom lift EWP.
