NZQA Unit Standard 27563:  Demonstrate knowledge of teams and team leadership in an organisation

People credited with this unit standard can demonstrate knowledge of teams and team leadership in an organisation.

Performance criteria

  • A team is defined and explained, consistent with any commonly agreed definition.
  • Purpose(s) and reason(s) for having a team are described in relation to two specific teams with different objectives
  • Stages in team development are identified and described in relation to two specific teams with different purposes. Range stages may include but are not limited to – forming, norming, storming, performing, adjourning.
  • Team-building processes are described in relation to two specific teams.
  • Potential positive and negative success factors for a team are described in relation to two specific teams.

NZQA Unit Standard 31762:  Demonstrate knowledge of worker health in the extractive industries.

Performance criteria:

  • Demonstrate knowledge of worker health in the extractive industries.
  • The roles and responsibilities relating to worker health in the extractive industries are explained in terms of legislative requirements.  Roles include but are not limited to – persons controlling a business or undertaking (PCBUs); officers; workers; other persons and workplaces responsibilities include but are not limited to those related to – worker engagement, participation and representation; hazard identification; risk appraisal and assessment; implementation of controls.
  • Hazards to worker health in the extractive industries are described in terms of risk to worker health and ways to control the risk.  Includes but is not limited to – noise; vibration; airborne contaminants; manual handling; psychosocial hazards; fatigue; drugs and alcohol; temperature; hazardous substances; skin contaminants; biological hazards; atmospheric pressure; ionising radiation; non-ionising radiation; pressure injection injuries.
